Keeping Kosher (Audio)

The Kashrut (Kosher) laws are the commandments in the Torah which discuss the foods Jewish people can and cannot eat. Food that is permitted is kosher, meaning ‘fit for purpose.’ There are many different rules including laws around which foods may be eaten together and which foods have to be kept separately. The Kashrut laws also discuss the treatment of animals. Jewish people interpret these laws differently based on their streams and personal beliefs.

Listen to Rabbi Yisroel Fine discuss how the Jewish community of Merthyr kept kosher in practice.
